Beginning mid-May 2012, Santa will announce his candidacy for President of the United States. He believes that America has lost its heart and soul and plans to help restore them, while changing the political dynamic and election paradigm in the process.

Santa Claus is his legal name, and he serves as a volunteer child advocate, peace activist, and monk. Prior to his Santa years, he served as Special Assistant to the Deputy Police  Commissioner, Administration, of New York City (NYPD), Director of the Terrorism Research and Communication Center (TRACC), and Member of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's National Defense Executive Reserve.

More recently, Santa served as Director of The Santa Claus Foundation, advocating for the 2 million children in the United States annually who are abused, neglected, exploited, abandoned, homeless, and institutionalized through no fault of their own. That's 1 out of every 37 children in our great nation.

Several years ago, Santa visited every Governor's staff throughout our country, on Santa's Bless the Children Tour, discussing a variety of issues affecting vulnerable children in dire straits and formulating processes to streamline government and agency systems designed to serve vulnerable children, including those eligible for foster care and adoption.

During the 2008 election cycle, Santa ran as an independent write-in candidate for President in 16 states. His campaign was mentioned by National Public Radio, the Associated Press, MTV News, G4 TV, more than 100 blogs, and in newspaper websites in the United States, Russia, Finland, Canada, and Brazil, despite the fact that he spent only a few hundred dollars to discuss a variety of children's issues on the national level.

In 2009, Santa received an International Peace Prize from the Santa Claus Peace Council in Turkey, that previously bestowed its Peace Prize on the Dalai Lama, this time recognizing Santa's work on behalf of millions of vulnerable children and his belief that in order to achieve international peace we first must instill peace within the heart of each and every child.

Now, it's time to restore America's heart and soul.

It is fair to say that Santa embraces the ten key values of the Green Party platform:

GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

ECOLOGICAL WISDOM

NON-VIOLENCE

DECENTRALIZATION

COMMUNITY-BASED ECONOMICS AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE

FEMINISM AND GENDER EQUITY

RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY

PERSONAL AND GLOBAL RESPONSIBILITY

FUTURE FOCUS AND SUSTAINABILITY
